【GGU】FI 305 Financial reporting and Analysis 转载 摘自 加州大学论坛旧版 (Universities in California Bulletin Board System) ggu 2008-07-04 15:01 课程介绍： This course combines theoretical concepts underlying the presentation of financial statements with the practical techniques of financial analysis. Topics include accounting processes; examination of the components of the balance sheet, the income statement and the statement of cash flows; application of the various quantitative techniques of financial analysis, such as ratio interpretation and EPS evaluation; the meaning and significance of the auditor’s opinion, and current SEC reporting regulations. Students will be required to complete worksheet assignments using analysis techniques, prepare a brief written industry report, participate in group discussions analyzing financial reporting issues, and prepare and present a comprehensive financial analysis of a select company including a valuation of the stock. By the end of the course, the student should be able to read a set of financial statements in conjunction with other available information about the company’s industry, products and/or services, calculate a fair market value of the stock using the residual income model, and formulate an opinion on the validity of the current market value relative to the calculated intrinsic value. Prerequisites: All students must complete FI300. In addition, students should have a good working knowledge of basic accounting theory and principles. This course concentrates on more intermediate and advanced accounting principles. The student will be required to comprehend, interpret, and apply these more advanced principles to a target company as part of a valuation project.

老师介绍 Deborah Richard 摘自 加州大学论坛旧版 (Universities in California Bulletin Board System) ggu 2008-07-04 15:02 Ms. Richard is a CPA currently working as chief financial officer for a private equity firm raising capital to invest in diversified portfolios of early stage companies, growth companies, and buyout opportunities in a broad range of industries. She is also a consultant for both public and private investment firms raising capital for real estate and leasing programs and has played an instrumental role in restructuring situations. Previously, she owned and managed her own firm, Oasis Solutions for 7 years. Oasis provided accounting and tax services for limited partnerships and was a SEC registered transfer agent providing specialized title transfer and trading settlement services to sponsors of limited partnerships and broker dealers in the secondary market. Prior to Oasis, Ms. Richard was chief financial officer for the Liquidity Fund Companies, a sponsor of private real estate syndications, a self-clearing broker dealer in the limited partnership secondary market and a publisher of real estate market research. From 1983 to 1986, she was the chief financial officer for the Quinoco Companies in Denver, Colorado, an oil and gas syndicator of SEC registered partnerships, including a master limited partnership, which traded on AMEX. She was also an audit manager for Price Waterhouse.
